I joined Human Form Fitness in 2018. All my life before, I dreaded physical exercise. I was a bookworm. I found every excuse to cut gym class. I was always the one picked last when teams were formed. As an adult, I became that annoying person who takes the elevator down one floor. I started and stopped at least 20 exercise programs. My only regular exercise was running through airports to catch a plane and doing the O-H-I-O at football games.
My friend Marian recommended HF. I love coming to workouts here. I usually come three days a week, and I rarely miss a class. The difference that makes a difference between HF and the big gyms: the members and the coaches. I’m in classes with people my age, older, and younger – some are in good shape and others aren’t. I fit right in. The coaches are fantastic – smart, caring, and professional – and they make everyone feel comfortably challenged to do their individual best; it’s not competitive or stressful. Workouts here helped me feel better, sleep better, increase my stamina, and feel more alert. I naturally lost some excess weight.
Recently, I had a knee replacement. Because Human Form for years had helped me improve my fitness level despite my gradual knee deterioration, I was in good condition for the surgery. And Coach Jeff Lowe helped me with special sessions to further strengthen my lower body and core, which helped accelerate my recovery after the surgery. I’m forever grateful to all our coaches and to my fellow Human Forms who have helped create this wonderful exercise community.
